Why Transfer Old Videotape, Photographs,
Slides or Movie Film to DVD?
Videotape is not the best choice for preserving your precious
memories.  It loses its magnetic particles over time and also
stretches, wears and breaks with use.  Videotape will eventually
deliver  fuzzy picture quality and can melt in heat.  VHS tapes are
bulky and take up too much storage space.  The usual shelf life of
most VHS videotape is approximately ten years.  After that, it will
degrade.  Printed photographs, slides, and movie film are also
susceptible to decay.  There is no escaping these facts.

It is projected that DVDs will last between 40 to 100 years,
depending on how they are cared for and stored.  With your valuable
memories stored on DVD, you can be sure that they will be enjoyed
by many generations to come.

In addition to being more reliable, DVDs can include the following
available improvements when you transfer from other media: opening
and closing credits; the addition of narration, music, or other audio
effects; titles or messages to preface scenes; more editing potential;
menus for more control of screen selection; and screen text to
indicate names and the event, date, and location, of each segment.

Don't risk the loss of your heritage and precious memories.
